PRENATAL
Prenatal yoga helps to connect moms to be with their inner wisdom and the very natural process of birth. Each class guides you through specifically designed series of postures for the journey of pregnancy. Linking yoga postures with the breath will lead you to new discoveries, bringing awareness to the mind, body and spirit, and also the spirit of your baby. Yoga will help strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort. Yoga can also alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica. A safe, open community allows you to freely discuss any issues, from discomforts and concerns, to the wonderful new changes your body and baby are experiencing.
RESTORATIVE FLOW/DEEP STRETCH
Restorative flow yoga encourages students to slow down and notice the subtle changes that occur within. This class offers a deep nourishing experience, which activates the body’s natural healing abilities. The postures are done one after the other in gentle flowing movements. This class is suitable for all folks – pregnant or not.
BEBE&ME SOCIAL/CLASSES
Let’s get together for fun and fitness. This is a postpartum yoga class with babies, but those mamas to be should join us too! Sometimes we will go and socialize. Talking about life as a mama, exploring the ups and downs of parenthood and supporting each other. The fitness classes specifically focus toning your body, bonding with baby, improving baby’s physical and emotional development and just having some fun! Our time together will be different each week – maybe a trip to the arboretum or museum or maybe we’ll do some yoga, walking/hiking, and even a little dancing! Registration is required. RESTORATIVE MEDITATION
Restore the body’s natural healing through guided meditation in restorative postures. Restorative yoga emphasizes the calming of the nervous system and teaches the art of relaxation, which has tremendous mental and physical benefits. A series of rejuvenating and supported poses are taught to promote vitality and create a state of deep relaxation. Melt tension away and leave feeling completely refreshed and fully restored. This class is suitable for all folks – pregnant or not.
POSTPARTUM
Postpartum yoga classes help women regain strength and energy that may have been lost during pregnancy. Classes specifically focus on rebuilding strength in the abdomen, back and pelvic muscle; releasing tension in the shoulders and neck; opening the chest. Classes also address common issues and concerns that may arise in this new chapter of life. Moms are welcome to bring their babies!
PARTNERS IN PREGNANCY
This is a prenatal yoga class with a partner. Hone in on your innate inner wisdom with each other during this journey through pregnancy. In addition to postures (individual and together), we will focus on breathing techniques and comfort measures.
FERTILITY – INDIVIDUAL & PARTNERS
This time individually offers a time to balance the body and mind to unlock the blocks focusing on postures and relaxation to stimulate fertility. The partners class helps partners to reduce the stress associated with infertility and to redirect the focus onto themselves and the connection of mind/body. Restorative partner poses, attention to the downward motion of breath – apana and release of negative emotions or limiting thought are used in class.
